Robert Simon "AKA" A Bistro
The name is AKA, a Bistro — also known as restaurateur Robert Simon’s latest venture, open now in downtown St. Helena. The historic 1920s building on Main Street, formerly housing the Keller Brothers butcher shop, now dishes traditional faves with beer and wine in a modern bistro setting. Step inside the cheery spot with buttercream walls, concrete floors, and twig-wrapped light pendants to find a cushy front lounge, a wall of cubbies storing 550 bottles of wine, and an ecofriendly fireplace. Hit the African mahogany bar or grab a table to relish fire-roasted Monterey calamari; Reuben sandwiches; build-your-own burgers; and mains like herb-crusted ahi salad, Ernie’s prime Angus filet with crushed potatoes, and Vegetable Blackjack (21 veggie treats). Top it all off with the decadent molten chocolate cake with peanut butter ice cream.
