John Barricelli - "The SoNo Baking Company Cookbook"
The SoNo Baking Company & Café, is the creation of John Barricelli who had a vision of creating artisan breads, top quality French style pastries and specialty cakes in a homey, inviting Bakery/Café. His culinary experience includes having worked for one of the finest restaurants in Fairfield County: The Elms Restaurant and Tavern in Ridgefield, CT. John’s exceptional talent and ability landed him at Martha Stewart Living Productions in Westport, CT. In 2003, a television version of the Martha Stewart Omnimedia magazine, Everyday Food was being developed. Ms. Stewart's vision for the show was to feature real people who worked as cooks for the company—and also had busy and demanding lives—like most of us! John was one of five chosen for an ensemble cast. Everyday Food went into production, was sold to PBS and can be seen in 80% of the television markets nationally. John has also made his dream of owning a Bakery/Café into a reality. Located in popular South Norwalk, CT (known as SoNo), he renovated a 3600 sq ft former warehouse and brought to life The SoNo Baking Company & Café. This intimate, beautiful, upscale Café boasts an open kitchen and bakery, providing a mouth-watering aroma of fresh baked breads from the deck oven imported from Italy. You’ll watch in awe of the gorgeous cakes being decorated and delicate pastries being carefully constructed—all while dining on a simple yet delicious menu.
