There are few champions in any sport who can claim eight consecutive championships. This coming Independence Day, Joey “JAWS” Chestnut will once again try to make history at Coney Island by going for a record ninth championship. Jaws was upset in the final competition last year, so this year he’s training hard to regain his title and add to his world record. Whatever happens, Joey has already established himself as one of the all-time greats in the sport of competition eating.
On June 24th, the hot dog eating super star will be in Washington, DC., for one of the qualifying events for the Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating contest.
