Ellie Kay is the author of 14 books, but it’s her role as a military wife and mother to three military children that she cherishes most. In fact, since she wrote her popular book entitled, HEROES AT HOME: Help & Hope for America’s Military Families, Ellie has been widely recognized as a top expert on the challenges facing military families. It’s the many problems facing these families that has also inspired this best-selling author to team up with Walmart to launch a special holiday campaign called SING TO SALUTE MILITARY FAMILIES, an initiative to support the Fisher House Foundation that for more than 25 years has provided free night stays for military families whose loved ones are in a nearby hospital.
Starting Dec. 1, Ellie and Walmart are calling on the public to sing a part of their favorite holiday song and post it on Twitter, Instagram or YouTube with the hashtag #sing2salute. Each post will generate $100 for the Fisher House Foundation with the goal of reaching up to $1 million to pay for a full year of night stays for military families staying at local houses. Ellie will be LIVE from a Fisher House in Washington, DC.
