09/26 Randy DeWitt, Twin Peaks, Bobbi Cohen, Bobbilicious, Whole Foods, Bob Cabral, Williams Selyem

Randy DeWitt, Co-Founder and CEO of Twin Peaks

“Twin Peaks” – Randy DeWitt, co-founder and CEO of Twin Peaks, goes undercover in his popular sports bar and grill chain that features provocatively dressed waitresses. While there, he enlists the help of UNDERCOVER BOSS alum Coby Brooks (“Hooters”), now one of the largest franchise owners at Twin Peaks, who shaves his head and also goes undercover as an inappropriate customer, on the fifth season premiere of UNDERCOVER BOSS, Friday, Sept. 27 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Randy DeWitt is CEO and co-founder of Twin Peaks Restaurants, one of the fastest growing sports bars in America. It’s headquartered in Dallas, where Randy grew up, and was launched in 2005.  It’s a rustic-themed sports bar that has more than 40 locations around the U.S. and brings in more than 100 million dollars of annual revenue.  They expect to triple their number of locations in the next three years.   They’re expanding as far south east as Florida, as far north as Chicago, and they’re on the strip in Las Vegas.   When Coby Brooks sold Hooters he called Randy six months later and said that he liked the brand and wanted to buy a large territory to develop in the southeast.   Randy saw the Hooters episode of “Undercover Boss” and acknowledges that it didn’t go well for Coby, but that he handled the situation extremely well.  Randy says his wife came up with the name Twin Peaks “to make it tongue-in-cheek” – and he loved it. Randy’s Mission:  Twin Peaks is growing really fast and he wants to ensure that they’re fulfilling the brand promise and are taking care of their employees.  Though he’s prepared for customers to say, “Get this doofus away from my table and bring me a Twin Peaks girl!”

BOB CABRAL - Director of Winemaking & GM, Williams Selyem

Committing your entire career to the drama of coaxing stellar wine from the Pinot Noir grape has kept life interesting for our Director of Winemaking & General Manager and the face of today’s Williams Selyem. But it pales in comparison to Bob’s youth. While other classmates were playing sports like basketball or baseball, Bob was playing football, on the FFA Vine Pruning team, FFA Soils Judging team and riding bulls part time. After experiencing a few wild rides, Bob decided to refrain from a career as a professional bull rider or calf roper to help operate the family farm. Bob’s back has been the better for that decision ever since, along with lovers of memorable Pinot Noirs.

With thoughts of rodeo days behind him, Bob put all his energy into pruning vines, irrigating vineyards, and harvesting grapes on his family’s 70-acre ranch near Escalon, CA. A fourth- generation farmer and grape grower from the fertile San Joaquin Valley, he took all he learned from his family farm and applied it to his degrees at Fresno State University. His passion for Pinot Noir was evident very early on as he would spend every spare dime, and a good chunk of his student loans, on buying wine from all over the world—especially Burgundy and Russian River Valley Pinot Noir.

As his Pinot knowledge grew, Bob knew that Sonoma County was where he could best hone his skills and learn to make wines that could rival the best in the world. After six vintages in Fresno County, he worked the next 11 vintages in various winemaking positions as the Associate Winemaker at De Loach Vineyards, Custom Crush Winemaker at Kunde Estate Winery, Winemaker at Alderbrook Vineyards, and Winemaker at Hartford Court Winery. In 1998 Burt Williams recommended that Bob take over for him as Winemaker at Williams Selyem. Bob and new owner John Dyson shared a similar winemaking philosophy: that the most important aspects of winemaking are the vineyards, the climate, and inspiring those around you to believe in what’s in the bottle.  Bob has been with Williams Selyem ever since.

Bob, his wife Heather, and their daughter Paige make their home in Sonoma County, just outside of Healdsburg. In his spare time, Bob kicks back by helping his daughter with her 4-H projects. They’re also learning how to play guitar together. It seems as if there is always work to be done around the ranch, pulling weeds or tending to a pig, but that doesn’t stop Bob and his family from escaping for a simple lunch or exploring the great local farms, cheese shops, bakeries, and Michelin-rated restaurants that have blossomed in the region.
