The View's Joy Behar Tells Us About Cat Adoption!

According to the ASPCA, as many as 4 million cats and kittens enter animal shelters nationwide each year. Now, they have found a better way to help cats move from shelters into loving homes: Give them away for free

According to new research, waiving the fees on adult cat adoptions is good for cats, cat owners and, surprisingly, the bottom line of animal shelters. Now, during June’s Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month television personality, Joy Behar, the ASPCA and the makers of Fresh Step litter are asking shelters nationwide to waive the fee they typically charge to adopt adult cats.

About Joy: Following years as a stand-up comedian and a radio talk show host, Joy Behar became one of the original cast members of “The View.” She has been on the show since 1997. In August 2009 Behar, alongside her co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Barbara Walters and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, won the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Talk Show Host. In addition to “The View,” Joy also hosts her own talk show on HLN, “The Joy Behar Show.”
