06/11 Dandy Don, Doug Circle, Sierra Madrea Vineyards, Alan Thicke, Executive Chef Stanley Licairac!

"DANDY" DON WHITTEMORE

Our most popular ice cream social includes a 4-foot red & white portable ice cream stand stocked with 100 scoops of ice cream (usually Vanilla Bean, Chocolate, Cappuccino Crunch, Non-fat Vanilla Frozen Yogurt, and Raspberry Sorbet). A second 4-foot table holds our Top 20 Toppings. The party usually lasts an hour hosted by one gracious server. This party in Beverly Hills or Hollywood costs about $700.  If it’s located in downtown L.A, or Camarillo, it runs about $720. For Orange County, figure around $855. Of course your party might need a different number of sundaes and/or toppings, plus a longer or shorter serving time. There are other wonderful options.

Doug Circle - Sierra Madrea Vineyards

Doug Circle knows how to pull together a team that delivers. He listens to his customer to conceive the vision, then, in his words, “hires great people, and then gets out of the way.” With Doug’s confidence and authority in their expertise, they get things done. Per one employee, “Doug makes us feel like we own the company. We always come away with a great feeling of accomplishment.” In the case of Sierra Madre Vineyard, he has many expert teams – management, viticulture, winemaking and administration.

Alan Thicke - Father's Day
Alan Thicke's distinctive humor and charm have established him as one of America's all-purpose entertainers. Of course, he's best known for his role as super dad Jason Seaver on the hit sitcom GROWING PAINS, and in real life as the father of three sons, including Robin Thicke, the famous musician and entertainer. From these experiences, Thicke has written several humorous books about family life that have spawned a popular segment on his syndicated radio show and blog called, "Thicke's Picks."  Thicke will bring your viewers and listeners with some timely advice for anyone who may still be looking for ways to celebrate Father's Day. TV Guide lists Thicke as one of the top TV dad's of all time. Thicke also has had a long and diverse career, writing theme songs for numerous TV shows, including DIFFERENT STROKES, and hosting everything from pageants to game shows.   His books include,"How Men Have Babies:The Pregnant Father's Survival Guide" and "How to Raise Kids Who Won't Hate You".

Executive Chef Stanley Licairac - Havana Central

Back in 2001, Jeremy Merrin was looking for a new, entrepreneurial concept. He loves Latin cooking and frequented local Cuban restaurants. After seeing the popularity of many local Cuban restaurants, he began to think about a concept where people could get big plates of rice and beans for reasonable prices. However, he knew nothing about the restaurant business. After extensive interviewing, Jeremy met with Arlene Spiegel, a restaurant consultant and former restaurant owner. Together, they decided that there is a great opportunity in Cuban cuisine and dedicated the next nine months to creating a restaurant plan that had the best possible chance for success. Jeremy’s first hire, to manage the restaurant was Stanley Licairac. Stanley was (and still is) instrumental in setting the culinary direction and very much the atmosphere of Havana Central. Stanley is currently the Executive Chef of Havana Central. On June 24th, 2002, Havana Central opened its doors to a big crowd and great reviews. With a spirited sense of buen gusto, Havana Central presents a portal to Cuba’s golden era, when life on the island paradise was a continuous party. Stepping through the doors, diners enter circa 1950s Havana, where Celia Cruz is singing her latest hit with the La Sonora Matancera band, where the flavorful food is gently spiced and comfortingly reminiscent of home (no matter where home might be!). The bartender has a refreshing mojito waiting and Ernest Hemingway could walk in any minute and belly up to the bar. An unmistakable celebration of Cuban culture, the food, the music and the people of Havana Central afford patrons a fanciful excursion to the fabled island – an excursion that, in keeping with Cuban tradition, embraces the whole family.
