Lesley Visser Gives us HER Take on the SUPER BOWL and Tells Us How to Protect and Care for Our Eyes While Playing Sports - How Do the Pro's Do That, Lesley? Dr. Larry Lampert Chimes in with His Expert Advice!
It’s that time of year again! Sports fans nationwide will be tuned in to the most anticipated sports event of the year – the Super Bowl. Who better to provide a sneak preview of the game than famed sportscaster Lesley Visser?

Throughout her career as a sportscaster, Lesley Visser has spent many days reporting from the sidelines exposed to intense glare from the sun and changing light conditions leaving her eyes unprotected. Years later, she realizes the impact of UV exposure and the damaging effects it has had on her eyes. She relies heavily on her vision and the ability to see clearly not only when commentating at various sporting events, such as Super Bowl XLV, but also when participating in her favorite outdoor sports and activities in her personal life. According to the World Health Organization, 3.2 million people go blind every year as a result of prolonged UV exposure. While many people know the harmful effects that UV exposure has on the skin, many do not realize that it can cause just as much damage to the eyes, contributing to long-term damage and the development of vision-related conditions. UV rays are present 365 days a year, whether it’s sunny, cloudy or in between, so it’s always important to take the proper precautions to protect the eyes – whether you’re on the sidelines or in the game.

Lesley Visser, sportscaster – known as first and only woman in Pro Football Hall of Fame, first woman to report from a Super Bowl sideline; voted Best Female Sportscaster of All Time in 2009.

Celebrity Chef Kathleen Daelemans Takes the Confusion out of Grocery Shopping for Us & Gives Us Shopping Advice on How to Select Groceries with Quality Ingredients, and Food Products That Best Fit Each Family’s Needs!

While a return to home-cooked meals continues to increase in popularity, it is often the purchasing of ingredients, not the preparation, that causes most of us to cringe in confusion. Grocery labels continue to add new descriptions to entice shoppers with assurances about their product benefits. “Reduced Fat”, “Fat Free”, “No Trans Fat”, “Low Calorie”, “Gluten-free,” “Locally Grown”, “Certified Organically Grown”, “No Preservatives”, “No MSG”, “No rBGH”, “Sugar-Free”, “100% All-Natural”, and “100% Fruit Juice” are just some of the words that bombard consumers up and down almost every aisle and every section as they shop their way through the grocery store. But what does it all mean and how can a consumer know what to believe?

Kathleen Daelemans is a Celebrity chef; “New York Times” bestselling cookbook author of “Cooking Thin and Loving Food: 200 Easy Recipes to Take You Where You Want to Be”, “Chef Kathleen’s Cooking Thin Daybook”, “Cooking Thin with Chef Kathleen”, and “Getting Thin and Loving Food”; and former host of “FOOD NETWORK’S” “Cooking Thin with Chef Kathleen”

T-Rex A Family Man? Who Knew?!? Best-Selling Author Homer Hickam Shares the Surprising Family Life of the Ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex, and His New Novel, The Dinosaur Hunter

Dinosaurs are ever-popular in the public imagination and the iconic Tyrannosaurus rex never ceases to fascinate. Every year, it seems we learn more about these amazing animals. Recently, it was announced that a T.rex discovered in Montana had viable remnants of cellular tissue that told researchers it was not only a female but she was also pregnant! One of the men who helped discover that T.rex and also discovered two more with viable blood cells is Homer Hickam, author of The Dinosaur Hunter (St. Martin's, November, 2010). Homer is perhaps best known for his #1 New York Times best-seller Rocket Boys that was adapted into the award-winning film October Sky. Working with other bone hunters in the badlands of Montana over a ten-year period, Homer has also found many Triceratops and Torosaurus dinosaurs. In fact, so many bones of these animals were brought in to be studied by world-famous paleontologist and Jurassic Park advisor Dr. John (Jack) Horner, he has concluded these two animals were actually one and the same species. This announcement has caused a considerable stir in the world of dinosaur academia and illustrates why, according to Hickam, "there is nothing better than getting out into the field and sweating a little in the name of discovery."

Homer Hickam's latest novel is set to hit bookshelves on November 9th, 2010. Homer has most recently made appearances on all major news and broadcast networks, including NBC, CNN, NPR, MSNBC, CNBC, FOX News, The CW, AP, ABC News Radio, Voice of America, CBS Radio, Washington Times Radio, and numerous others.
