Under the direction of the Los Angeles County Fair Association, Fairplex is home to the L.A. Leslie Galerne-Smith has joined the Los Angeles County Fair Association as public relations and communications manager effective Aug. 2. Galerne-Smith was most recently senior account executive since 2006 with The Rogers Group, a Los Angeles-based public relations agency. Galerne-Smith worked with a variety of clients including L.A. Auto Show, Kellogg’s, Los Angeles Police Foundation and more. The Fair Association is a client of The Rogers Group and Galerne-Smith is very knowledgeable about the facility having worked closely with both Fairplex and the Fair. She is a graduate of University of Southern California with a degree in political science. She has an extensive background in public relations having also worked for Rogers & Cowan public relations firm.

Tailgating season has officially begun. And what used to be defined by some burgers and beer next to the car in the parking lot has morphed into pickup trucks with built-in grills and coolers, elaborate portable smokers, gas-powered blenders, fancy canopies, and folding chairs with footrests and cup-holders. So how do you plan on upping your game this season?
