Google Provides A New Look At The World Ahead Of Earth Day
Just in time for Earth Day, Google Earth is getting an upgrade to provide a new way to explore the world and inspire more curious minds to learn and care about our vast and fragile planet. Earth lets you see the world's cities, landmarks and natural wonders in extraordinary detail.
The site is going mobile to enhance your experience - hold it in your hand, pass it around a classroom or virtually fly over or walk inside places that are thousands of miles away. You'll find interactive stories from some of the world's best storytellers. Knowledge Cards will allow you to learn more about local landmarks and suggest customized points of interest to explore. The new "Im Feeling Lucky" feature flies you to various hidden gems around the globe.
Learning about the Earth starts young. Google Expeditions brings lessons to life for kids and allow teachers to take students on immersive, virtual journeys. The feature has brought over two million children via the Expeditions Pioneer Program from around the world on virtual field trips with more than 500 tours of the world's most amazing places like the coral reefs, South American rainforests and the wind and solar farms that provide us with clean power.
