ABOUT MATTHEW:
Matthew Loso first got the wine bug as a server, when an unexpected personnel change caused the Maître d’Hotel at a high-end restaurant in Seattle to suddenly proclaim him the “wine captain”. That was 1988, and he was a senior at Liberty High School in Issaquah, WA. By 1990 his focus had changed from serving wine to making wine. His first crush was at (long-gone) French Creek Cellars in Woodinville, where he spent 2 vintages, before going on to work under David Lake, MW at Columbia Winery. He went on from there to continue his craft at McCrea Cellars, one of Washington early Rhone specialists.

In 1993, Matthew launched Matthews Cellars (later Matthews Estate) with 75 cases of Red Table Wine, and a star was born. He remained at his namesake winery until 2008, when he sold his share of Matthews Estate to concentrate on his consulting business, which was booming along with the explosive growth of the Washington wine industry. Matthew has been making Barons wines from the very beginning, and brings a wealth of knowledge unparalleled in the Pacific Northwest, on both the technical and practical sides.

As one of Washington’s pioneer winemakers, he has mentored many winemakers who have gone on to fame and fortune, and is regularly consulted by other winemakers all across the region and beyond for his broad understanding of viticulture and viniculture. His wines (both at Barons and elsewhere) have received critical acclaim, more 90+ point ratings than can be counted, and most importantly, have stood the test of time. He believes that vineyard practices are just as important to the finished wine as what goes on at the winery, and spends untold hours in the vineyards each growing season.

Believing that in order to make world-class wine you have to know what it tastes like, Matthew has made a point of tasting the world’s greatest wines. An ardent collector, he has traveled extensively throughout the world’s classic wine regions, learning something from each area as he went along.

04/27 LARRY LIPSON, AFFORDABLE WINE EXPERT, DR. JEREMY LIEB AND AL PIAZZA

LARRY LIPSON – AFFORDABLE WINE REPORT
For fifty years Larry Lipson was the food critic for the Los Angeles Daily News and now reports from Florida weekly with his thoughts and favorite picks for Food & Wine.  His lovely Wife Lillian is also on hand at the Lipson Institute for advanced wine studies.

DR. JEREMY LIEB AND AL PIAZZA - HOW TO SPARE MORE CANCER PATIENTS FROM UNNECESSARY TREATMENTS?

ADVANCED GENETIC TEST PROMPTS CHANGE IN PROSTATE CANCER TREATMENT

Every 20 minutes another man will die from prostate cancer.  For these patients with aggressive disease, surgery and/or radiation treatment is appropriate and may be life-saving.  At the same time 40-50% of patients have a lower-risk prostate cancer and many are eligible for active surveillance.   These patients may opt to avoid or delay surgery and radiation and the side effects associated with these treatments such as urinary incontinence and sexual impotence.

According to the National Institutes of Health, 9 out of 10 prostate cancer patients who are candidates for active surveillance will instead receive more aggressive, radical treatment. The question all patients need answered is: What is my risk of dying from prostate cancer? The current trend in medicine is to reduce the rate of overtreatment for patients with low-risk prostate cancer by shifting more patients to active surveillance.

A recently published clinical utility study, PROCEDE 500, showed that:
  • Physicians changed their treatment plans for 65 percent of men with prostate cancer after receiving the Prolaris genetic test report.
  • Approximately 25 percent of patients had an increase in treatment based on a high test score, which indicates aggressive disease.
  • Approximately 40 percent of patients had a reduction in treatment based on a low test score, which indicates non-aggressive disease.
A genetic test called Prolaris® is the only clinically-proven prognostic test that tells patients if they have aggressive or non-aggressive prostate cancer and answers the important question of what is a patient’s personal risk is of dying from the disease within 10-years of diagnosis.  Armed with this personalized risk assessment, physicians can tailor their treatment plans to individual patients.

Jeremy Lieb, M.D., is a physician and board-certified urologist from California who is a member of a leading community-based urology practice.    He is an expert on prostate cancer diagnosis, prognosis and treatment, including the uses and benefits of genetic testing for clinical decision making.

Al Piazza, 73, a retired phone company manager from California, lives with prostate cancer. He decided against prostate surgery and opted for active surveillance based on Dr. Lieb’s advice and results from the Prolaris test that showed he has a less-aggressive form of the cancer. Al can speak to the many decisions a prostate cancer patient faces and how genetic testing gave him the peace of mind he needed.

Prolaris is a novel 46-gene RNA-expression test that directly measures tumor cell growth characteristics for stratifying the risk of disease progression in prostate cancer patients. Prolaris provides a quantitative measure of the RNA expression levels of genes involved in the progression of tumor growth.

04/25 FISHERMAN PAUL HEBERT, NAT GEO CHANNEL’S WICKED TUNA, SALLY JAMES, SLOW LIVING RADIO, ANZAC DAY

FISHERMAN PAUL HEBERT FROM NAT GEO CHANNEL’S WICKED TUNA - MONDAYS AT 9/8C

Wicked Tuna is a reality television series about commercial Tuna fishermen based in Gloucester, Massachusetts who fish for the lucrative Atlantic bluefin tuna in the North Atlantic Ocean. The teams of fisherman battle each other to see who can catch the most fish.

Captain Paul Hebert is often disparaged by his fellow captains.  But this season, he has gone from being this season’s underdog to a real contender for first place. After years of struggling, Hebert finally owns his own boat, the Wicked Pissah. Despite some rocky moments, including the departure of one crew member, Hebert has battled back against the odds and is within striking distance of the top spot. A win would top off his incredible season and finally earn him the respect of his peers, but the leaderboard standings are razor-thin and any captain could take the title.

In the April 25 episode, Paul is the titular “Comeback Kid” – Paul and his mate Brad get the series’ first-ever quadruple hookup (four fish on at the same time).

ABOUT PAUL HEBERT:
Captain Paul Hebert has been fishing in Gloucester’s waters for decades, but he has struggled to prove himself as a captain over the past few seasons. That all changes this year, because Hebert has finally purchased a boat of his own: the Wicked Pissah. It may be the smallest boat in the fleet, but it’s captained by one of New England’s biggest personalities. With his all-new crew, Hebert sets sail to make a name for himself. It’s a fresh chapter in his long career — and he is determined to make sure it’s filled with lots of meat on deck.

Hebert is a third-generation fisherman who has been fishing since he was a child: “I grew up doing this. My father was a fisherman, and my five brothers do it. My mother does it. It’s all I know. It’s like growing up on a farm and knowing about cows; I grew up knowing bluefin. When I was 4, my dad used to set me up next to him in a chair while he went harpooning.” While some fishermen go their entire careers without even daring to tackle the mighty bluefin, Hebert caught his first one at the tender age of 8, using a handline. “It was 1,100 pounds!” he recalls.

Hebert fishes commercially year-round, but his passion is catching giant bluefin. Known as one of Gloucester’s most successful fishermen, he has experience working on many different boats. Although Hebert might have a zany personality, he is completely serious when it comes to catching giants — and he’s vocal about the way he likes to fish, which sometimes leads to conflict.

AUTHOR, FOOD & WINE CONSULTANT, AUSTRALIAN FOOD & WINE AMBASSADOR & CO-HOST OF CRN’S SLOW LIVING RADIO SALLY JAMES TALKS ABOUT ANZAC DAY

An Anzac biscuit is a sweet biscuit, popular in Australia and New Zealand, made using rolled oats, flour, desiccated coconut, sugar, butter, golden syrup, baking soda and boiling water. Anzac biscuits have long been associated with the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) established in World War I.

It has been claimed the biscuits were sent by wives to soldiers abroad because the ingredients do not spoil easily and the biscuits kept well during naval transportation.Today, Anzac biscuits are manufactured commercially for retail sale.

Biscuits issued to soldiers by the Army, referred to as "Anzac tiles" or "Anzac wafers", differ from the popular Anzac biscuit. Anzac tiles and wafers were hard tack, a bread substitute, which had a long shelf life and was very hard.

ANZAC BISCUIT RECIPE
The popular Anzac biscuit is a traditional, eggless sweet biscuit. Early recipes did not include coconut. The following recipe (without coconut) was published in The Capricornian (Rockhampton, Queensland) on Saturday, 14th August 1926.

Ingredients
2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup melted butter
1 tbls golden syrup
2 tbls boiling water
1 tsp bicarbonate soda (add a little more water if mixture is too dry)

Method
1. Combine dry ingredients.
2. Mix golden syrup, boiling water and bicarbonate of soda until they froth. Add melted butter.
3. Combine butter mixture and dry ingredients.
4. Drop teaspoons of mixture onto floured tray, allowing room for spreading.
5. Bake in a slow oven.

ABOUT ANZAC DAY:
ANZAC was the name given to the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers who landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey early on the morning of 25 April 1915 during the First World War (1914-1918).

As a result, one day in the year has involved the whole of Australia in solemn ceremonies of remembrance, gratitude and national pride for all our men and women who have fought and died in all wars. That day is ANZAC Day - 25 April.

Every nation must, sooner or later, come for the first time to a supreme test of quality; and the result of that test will hearten or dishearten those who come afterwards. For the fledgling nation of Australia that first supreme test was at Gallipoli.

This site includes a host of educational and historical information on ANZAC Day, the Spirit of ANZAC, and all conflicts in which Australian forces have served. The site will be regularly updated and improved as resources permit.

JIM FOX - FORMER NHL PLAYER AND TV ANALYST FOR THE LA KINGS – PLAYOFFS AND THE LOS ANGELES KINGS “BEARDATHON”

LOS ANGELES KINGS “BEARDATHON”

Los Angeles Kings “Beardathon”  raiseS money for the March of Dimes who’s mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.  If you are able to pledge for Jim's beard, every little bit helps…

ABOUT JIM:
Jim Fox is in his 26th season as the Kings Television Analyst, joining Bob Miller in the booth for club broadcasts on FOX Sports West.

Ninth on the Kings all-time scoring list, ninth in assists and 11th in goals with 479 points (186-293=479) in 578 games, Fox spent his entire 10-year career as a member of the Kings after being selected in the first round (10th overall) of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft.  A three time 30-goal scorer, Fox enjoyed his most productive season in 1984-85 when he recorded 83 points (30-53=83), and in 22 career playoff games with the Kings, Fox had 12 points (4-8=12).  Over his playing career with the Kings, Fox also holds the distinction of playing the fourth most games -- starting, ending and only with the Kings (Dave Taylor holds the mark followed by Dustin Brown and Anze Kopitar).

Prior to becoming a King, Fox enjoyed a standout junior career with the Ottawa 67’s of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).  As the club’s captain during the 1979-80 campaign, Fox recorded at least one point in every game, including preseason, regular season and the playoffs, and he was a finalist for the Canadian Jr. Player of the Year after earning OHL Most Valuable Player and Leading Scorer awards.

Internationally, Fox represented Canada at the World Junior Championship in Helsinki (1979-80) and he also earned a bronze medal at the World Championship in Moscow in 1986.

Upon retirement as a player in 1990, Fox became Director of Community Relations for the Kings, a position he held until 1994.  During that time, he was responsible for creating the Kings Care Foundation and annual Foundation events such as Tip-A-King, the team’s charity golf tournament and the Kings Youth Hockey Camp.

He remains one of the strongest forces in the Kings community development and charitable efforts, as a Special Ambassador, and he spends an enormous amount of time supporting and developing programs that benefit the children of our community, while also sitting on the board.  For 25 years, Fox also co-hosted the Cystic Fibrosis Golf Classic with Dave Taylor, and now he actively serves as Commissioner for the new Los Angeles Kings High School Hockey League.  In 2015 the Kings named their Community Service Award, which is given annually to an active Kings player, after Fox.

Fox, 55 (5/18/60), a wine lover, has participated as a judge in the Long Beach Grand Cru and the Los Angeles County Fair “Wines of the World,” both international wine-tasting competitions.  Fox, along with winemaker Mike Smith, produces single vineyard designate Pinot Noir from California under the brand name “Patiné Cellars.”  Patiné is French for “to have skated!”  This past September he hosted the fifth annual “Sunset Sip” wine tasting fundraiser to benefit The Guidance Center.

Fox played himself in the popular 1999 movie “Mystery, Alaska,” and he was the first Kings recipient of the club’s Community Service Award (1988-89).  In addition to his duties in the broadcasting booth, Fox has also served as the co-host of the Los Angeles-area Emmy Award-winning “Kings Live” pre-game show on FOX Sports West for several seasons.

In the October 2, 2006, issue of Sports Illustrated, Fox was named the Best Analyst in hockey.  From 1998-2012 Fox was named the Best TV Color Commentator in Southern California by Los Angeles Daily News Columnist Tom Hoffarth (the one year he did not win the award was when there was no NHL season), and Hoffarth has also named Fox and Miller the “Best Broadcasting Team” in a different award.  In 2008, the Southern California Sports Broadcasters honored him with the top pre and post-game shows commentator award and in 2009, 2011 and 2012, and in 2015 he won for the best TV Analyst for the second consecutive time (and fifth time in the last six years).

Also, on February 11, 2006, the Kings held “Jim Fox Day” at STAPLES Center, and Fox was honored on the ice before a game for his 25 years of service to the organization as a player and broadcaster.  During the 2013-14 season, Fox was a Legends Night Series honoree by the Kings at STAPLES Center.

From 2005-08, Fox also worked for NHL Radio through the Stanley Cup Final, as well as working as a studio playoff  analyst for Yahoo! Sports from 2006-09.

A native of Coniston, Ontario, Jim is a resident of Redondo Beach with his wife Susie.

MICHAEL GERBER - PUBLISHER OF THE NEW HUMOR MAGAZINE, THE AMERICAN BYSTANDER - THE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN FOR THE 2ND ISSUE

NEW HUMOR MAGAZINE THE AMERICAN BYSTANDER RETURNS FOR ISSUE #2

Decades after The National Lampoon and SPY ruled the comedy world, a dream team of writers and artists have resurrected the classic print humor magazine as a new quarterly publication - The American Bystander - www.americanbystander.org

Founded by Michael Gerber, Brian McConnachie, and Alan Goldberg, The American Bystander launched in late 2015 with an enormously successful crowdfunding campaign.

“Reaction was euphoric,” says Gerber. “We made our Kickstarter goal in just four days. And the moment people got issue #1, readers asked, ‘When can I buy #2?’  We were astounded. People aren’t supposed to like print anymore — but they do.”

Hence, issue #2 is now available via a Kickstarter campaign - http://kck.st/22wcKBa - stretching from March 23 to April 21.

If Bystander reaches its $25,000 goal, it will then be available in bookstores and Amazon. As with the first Bystander, issue #2 is a large format softcover book featuring material from some of America’s funniest writers and artists, adding to the dream team assembled for issue #1.

Bystander #2 boasts SNL’s Jack Handey and Brian McConnachie, Letterman’s Merrill Markoe and Steve Young, Slate’s Mallory Ortberg, a whole raft of New Yorker cartoonists young and old, The Simpsons’ Mike Reiss, Onion writers Todd Hanson and John Howell Harris, and a sterling lineup of comic book veterans from Howard Cruse and MK Brown to Rick Geary and Shary Flenniken.

The first issue was a 146-page, full-color softcover book filled with contributions from The Simpsons’ George Meyer, Reiss and Al Jean; Handey and McConnachie; New Yorker cartoonists Roz Chast, Jack Ziegler, Liza Donnelly; legendary illustrators Seymour Chwast, Edward Sorel, and R.O. Blechman; a crop of stellar younger talents like Ortberg, Simon Rich, and Kate Beaton; and a humorous essay by Monty Python’s Terry Jones.

Bystander was created to provide something America’s been missing for almost twenty years: smart magazine-style humor. Bystander offers classic writers and formats that used to be found in Esquire, Playboy, The Atlantic, even on the Times Op-Ed page, as well as humor magazines like The Realist, and National Lampoon and SPY both which went under in 1998.

The editors of Bystander think of the quarterly as the comedy equivalent of “slow food,” a format meant to be savored. From parody to satire, short stories to multi-page comics, there’s something in the magazine to suit every taste.  And more importantly, Bystander showcases the kinds of stuff you don’t see on the web, or can read on your phone.

Gerber stated, “Our goal is to provide an outlet -- connect all these talented writers and cartoonists with the audience. But we can't do it like a big corporate magazine; newsstands are dying, and comedy makes print advertisers nervous. So that's why we went to Kickstarter, directly to readers.”

Behind all the comedy, there’s also a serious purpose; the demise of mainstream publishing has been especially financially tough on these writers and cartoonists, who are the first to be trimmed when budgets get cut.  Editor McConnachie noted, “Here’s a novel idea: We are going to pay our contributors a fair wage, plus let them keep all the rights to their work.”

But the money has to come from readers, not advertisers — currently the Bystander doesn’t accept paid ads. “Humor magazines are the Bernie Sanders of the media world,” Gerber says. “Corporations hate them. They’re grass-roots, eccentric, human-sized. If readers keep loving us, we’ll be fine. If not, we probably shouldn’t exist anyway.”

THE AMERICAN BYSTANDER
MICHAEL GERBER is a million-selling parodist and publisher living in Santa Monica. BRIAN McCONNACHIE is an Emmy-award winning writer and actor who was a co-creator of the legendary National Lampoon Radio Hour, living in New York. ALAN GOLDBERG is a TV writer/producer and documentarian living in New York City.

4/15 DEE WALLACE, MORGAN MCLAUGHLIN, SANTA BARBARA VINTNERS, VINTNERS SPRING WEEKEND & FESTIVAL, STEVE EVANS

ACTRESS DEE WALLACE – CURRENT PROJECTS

Dee Wallace is a beloved feature film actress (130 films, 4 TV series, 200 commercials) author (5 books), radio host and life coach (20 years) known world-wide for her stand out role as the beloved mom in Steven Spielberg's classic film “ET The Extraterrestrial.”

The illustrious actress has just been nominated “Best Guest Performer” for her role as Patricia Spencer on “General Hospital” and she will attend “ The Daytime Emmy Awards” on May 1, 2016.  Dee states, “I am surprised, honored and grateful that my work on ‘General Hospital’ has been acknowledged this way. It is an exciting time for me! I played Patricia Spencer, Luke’s sister, a character that had been discussed since the beginning of the show! ”

Dee currently costars on the Amazon Prime TV series “Just Add Magic,” has two feature films, “Ayla” (supernatural love thriller) and “Death House” (a unique horror genre film with social commentary) completed and recently guest-starred on “The Supernatural.”

Dee is most excited about the remarkable plush toy, Buppa LaPaloo that she recently created to promote self-esteem and self-love for children.

Combining her love of teaching and empowering people Dee Wallace has created a unique first-of-its-kind best friend for children. Buppa LaPaloo. This is an adorable teddy bear that interacts with children of all ages to teach them strong and fun statements that help them know how special they really are. This is a remarkable, cuddly toy that teaches self-love and self-esteem. Parents will love this bear as it helps them participate and help their children expand on the experience of being awesome!

Psychologists agree that a child’s personality and basic life pattern is firmly embedded by the ages of 4-7. The core of bulimia, anorexia, bullying, poor grades, anger, etc. is due in part to a lack of self-love, importance and self-esteem while growing up. Early childhood self-love is vitally important to how children will see, be and interact in their world. The Buppa LaPaloo Bear helps kids learn how to own their power.

When you press the adorable Buppa LaPaloo Bear's right paw, one of 14 positive empowering messages is delivered that a child can repeat back. Some of the statements include: “I love me.” “I love to laugh.” “I love to smile.” “I love to dance.” The simple exercise of repeating these messages creates strong self-definitions and builds a child’s self-esteem and self-love.

When you press the Buppa LaPaloo Bear's left paw a parent or child can record a personal empowering, happy message. Buppa LaPaloo is a wonderful gift for anyone who loves holding a plush teddy bear and hearing great messages each day. It brings a smile to your face no matter what age!

Dee Wallace has combined her high school teaching degree and eclectic illustrious career to create a unique toy that can make a difference in a child’s life. Dee’s lifelong work is based on the principles of accepting responsibility and loving ourselves early in life so we can create the life we desire.

04/14 JOE FILIPPINI, ENTRE NOUS WINES, THE 27TH ANNUAL CULINARY EVENING WITH THE CALIFORNIA WINEMASTERS, TIFFANI THIESSEN, COOKING CHANNEL’S DINNER AT TIFFANI’S, MARK LACH, PREMIER EXHIBITIONS

GENERAL MANAGER AT ENTRE NOUS WINES. JOE FILIPPINI JOINS THE SHOW TO CHAT ABOUT THE 27TH ANNUAL CULINARY EVENING WITH THE CALIFORNIA WINEMASTERS

WELCOME TO ENTRE NOUS WINES, A SMALL FAMILY WINERY IN THE HEART OF NAPA VALLEY DEDICATED TO EXQUISITE, HAND-CRAFTED ESTATE WINES.

“Entre Nous” in French means “between us” – bringing those together who have both a role in making the wine and those who enjoy drinking it. In addition, “entre nous”, when applied to wine – indicates this is a beverage that is best enjoyed with others!

Entre Nous released their first wine in 2007 – a Cabernet Sauvignon. This gem of a property in Oakville is planted to 26 acres of vines – most of which is sold to premium wineries. Each year, Kristine Ashe harvests from select blocks and makes about 500 cases of wine. All grapes for their wines are from the estate.

Proprietor Kristine Ashe grew up in Marin County in the San Francisco Bay area and used to take trips up to Napa – where she ultimately fell in love with the lifestyle and the region’s wine. In 2000 she purchased her Oakville Estate – hired well regarded vineyard manager David Abreu – who promptly sectioned the property into smaller blocks to better micro manage the vineyard.

Today the vineyard is carefully managed, fruit is watched closely and dropped throughout the growing season, leaving only the most healthy quality bunches to fully ripen before harvest. The property is organically farmed – even sheep are brought in seasonally to graze the cover crop between the vines.

More recently, much sought after winemaker Phillipe Melka was hired and currently is their winemaker. Phillipe consults for a number of premium producers in Napa. He is well recognized in the industry and was voted American Winemaker of the year in 2005 by Robert Parker in Food & Wine Magazine. Philippe has a geology degree as well as a degree in oenology and agronomy (he knows his Napa terroir very well). He is as detailed in the vineyard as he is with the wine-making.

A WORD FROM JOE:
Entre Nous has been quite the unexpected and gratifying journey. Our family endeavor has taken me from sage brush and barbed wire to biodynamic farming and hand de-stemming some of the finest grapes in the world. Collaborating with relatives really strengthened our connection to one another, and created a community electrified with talent, zeal and unparalleled work ethic. I’ve found my place here, surrounded by family, friends, and work that I love. I don't take a single moment for granted. – Joe

MARK LACH - CREATIVE DIRECTOR, PREMIER EXHIBITIONS, INC - ARTIFACTS RECOVERED FROM RMS TITANIC WILL BE ON DISPLAY FOR THE LAST TIME

SEVEN SOON-TO-BE RETIRED ARTIFACTS WILL BE EXHIBITED ONE LAST TIME DURING THE 104TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SINKING OF TITANIC

The infamous story of Titanic is as fascinating to people around the world today as it was in 1912…Seven priceless artifacts recovered from the wreck site of RMS Titanic will be retired from public view forever and put into permanent conservation after a 4-month special engagement exhibit in Las Vegas. This will be the last time people can see these artifacts, incredibly rare paper documents and clothing, for themselves. The rarest artifacts ever recovered, the vast majority of paper and textiles aboard Titanic rapidly decomposed in the harsh undersea environment that exists 2.5-miles below the surface of the Atlantic, unlike heartier glass, metal and ceramic items that largely were intact when the wreck site was found in 1985.

On Thursday, April 14th, 104 years after Titanic struck an iceberg in the Atlantic, Mark Lach, Creative Director, Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition for Premier Exhibitions, will be available to discuss the artifacts that will be retired this year, never to be seen in public again. Among them is the haunting declaration of intent to seek U.S. citizenship of an immigrant who went down with the ship and a chilling mateless leather shoe that has never before been on display. This is the first time recovered artifacts from the wreck site of Titanic will be retired from public view. The selection represents a remarkable cross section of Titanic’s passengers and provides an intimate glimpse into life aboard the ship over a century ago.

MORE ABOUT MARK LACH:
Mark Lach has been a part of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition since 1999 serving as its creative director and original exhibition designer.

During his tenure with Titanic, Lach visited the wreck site of Titanic on the 2000 and 2004 Expeditions.  Lach is a part of an exclusive group of individuals who have gone down in a submersible to the wreck site and was a part of the team recovering artifacts that are conserved and put on display in Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition by Premier Exhibitions.

In addition to the creative design of Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition Lach has had a storied career designing some of the world's most famous and popular traveling museum exhibitions.

Your viewers and listeners will enjoy meeting this fascinating personality, who went from being a professional basketball player to becoming one of the top supermodels in the world.

BIOGRAPHY:
Growing up in Sweden, Elsa was presented with offers to model during high school after her father submitted photographs to three modeling agencies in Sweden when she was 13, Elsa was accepted in all three agencies; she began modeling at 14. She did some modeling in high school (including some campaigns for GUESS) but decided to primarily concentrate on her studies instead.

After graduating, she decided to pursue a career in the Swedish women’s basketball league. Elsa has commented that the level of play in the Swedish professional basketball league was not on par with the WNBA, and that interest in the sport was not as great in Sweden as in the United States. Although she ultimately abandoned professional basketball for modeling, Elsa has said that the intense rigor of practices and travel helped prepare her for the physical and travel demands of the modeling world.

After playing professional basketball for two years, she began receiving many job offers and soon moved to New York City to begin modeling full-time. Some writers have speculated that her work with Victoria’s Secret was what brought her into the top tier fashion world, but Elsa has said it was her work with Guess what opened doors for her, she was featured in multiple campaigns for the brand since 2006 with Spring/Summer 2012 being her most recent GUESS campaign.

She is ranked 18th on the Top Sexiest Models list by models.com. In 2011 Elsa started working for Victoria’s Secret and became the spokesperson for their PINK line up until 2014, when she was given a full Angel contract and walked a segment outside PINK for the first time in the 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Elsa works to support the anti-human-trafficking organization, FAIR Girls. She became interested in the issue after seeing the movie The Whistleblower, which dealt with issues of sex trafficking.

Family: Elsa is the daughter of father Pål and mother Marja. She has two siblings, a younger brother Lukas and older brother Johan. Her cousin, Alice Herbst, is also a model and she won Sweden’s Next Top Model in 2012.
