The James Beard Foundation (JBF) is honored to reveal the Los Angeles chairs for the third consecutive year of the prestigious Taste America®: “Local Flavor from Coast To Coast” national epicurean tour, which will visit Los Angeles on Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7. Chairs are David Bernahl (CEO, Coastal Luxury Management and co-owner of LA’s Faith & Flower); restaurateur and Managing Partner Bill Chait (Sprout Restaurant Group); James Beard Award winner Barbara Fairchild; Sheila Lamb-Cohen (Restaurant Consultant); Emily Luchetti (James Beard Award–winning pastry chef of Big Night Restaurant Group in the Bay Area, which includes Marlowe and Park Tavern); and Robert Schueller (Los Angeles–based Melissa’s Produce).

The evening begins with a tasting reception featuring an exciting lineup of Los Angeles’ finest chefs including Ray Garcia, Timothy Hollingsworth, Michael Hung, Jessica Koslow and Zach Pollack. Then, enjoy a unique four-course seated dinner designed by James Beard Award winner Hugh Acheson and Local Stars Jon Shook, Vinny Dotolo, and Host Chef Louis Pechan of Animal. We’re bringing these culinary stars together for an unforgettable, one-night-only dining experience

On Saturday, November 7, free in-store consumer events will take place at Sur La Table® located at Farmers Market, 6333 W 3rd St. #10, Los Angeles, CA 90036. Activities of the day will include a cooking demo by All-Star Hugh Acheson, book signings, tastings from local producers and artisans, as well as product demos and tastings from our national sponsors. HUGH ACHESON is the author of the James Beard Foundation Award Winning Cookbook A NEW TURN IN THE SOUTH: Southern Flavors Reinvented for Your Kitchen, Pick a Pickle: 50 Recipes for Pickles, Relishes, and Fermented Snacks, and THE BROAD FORK: Recipes for the Wide World of Vegetables and Fruits.
