Pete Bils, who joined Select Comfort in 1996, is the vice president of sleep innovation and clinical research. Select Comfort designs, manufactures, markets and supports a line of adjustable-firmness mattresses featuring air-chamber technology, branded the Sleep Number bed, as well as foundations and sleep bedding accessories.
As Vice President of Sleep Innovation and Clinical Research at Select Comfort, Bils is responsible for exploring the vital relationship between sleep and health. He manages the direction of the company’s efforts in clinical sleep research, from study design to laboratory execution.

Dr. Ruth MacPete has been practicing companion animal medicine in San Diego since 1997. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. MacPete works part-time at La Jolla Veterinary Hospital. Dr. MacPete has written articles for several pet magazines, including Cat Fancy, BARK, San Diego Pets Magazine, and Great Scots, as well as local newspapers. In her spare time Dr. MacPete loves to travel and explore other lands and cultures. She shares her home with her husband Henry and their two-year-old daughter Sienna, as well as Ling the Siamese, Indy the Abyssinian and Petey the dog.
