NBC and G4 have teamed once again to bring summertime audiences the heart-racing competition series “American Ninja Warrior.” The series is returning for its fifth season on G4 and its second full season on NBC. Matt Iseman returns to the show as host with former NFL player Akbar Gbaja Biamila (NFL Network). Jenn Brown (ESPN) will serve as co-host.
Jenn Brown is co-host for NBC’s heart-racing obstacle course competition series “American Ninja Warrior.” A two-time Emmy Award-winning sports broadcaster, Brown has also served as the sideline reporter for ESPN’s college football telecasts, the College Baseball World Series, Little League World Series, ESPY red carpet coverage as well as the summer and winter “X Games.” From 2010-13, Brown was a Los Angeles-based bureau reporter for ESPN, contributing interviews and reports for “SportsCenter,” “College Game Day” and “College Football Live.” Brown also co-hosted ESPNU’s popular college football show “RoadTrip,” which covered the biggest college football and basketball rivalry games throughout the year. Brown has covered a range of sporting events, including the Super Bowl, BCS National Championship Game, College Baseball World Series, NBA Finals, Monaco Grand Prix and Daytona 500.
Prior to joining ESPN full time, Brown was the first-ever female correspondent on Showtime’s award-winning series “Inside the NFL,” and also worked on the network’s boxing and mixed martial arts programing from 2008-10. In the 2009 summer, Brown co-hosted ABC’s primetime show “The Superstars,” in which athletes and celebrities paired up and competed against each other in various competitions. In 2008, Brown was a host at E! Entertainment, working on their daily online news show “E! News Now.” In addition to her role at E!, Brown also appeared as an entertainment correspondent on “CNN Showbiz Tonight” along with “Chelsea Lately.”
In 2004, Brown got her start in television by hosting and producing travel shows for Bennett Productions. For more than three years, she traveled to over 25 countries, taking viewers along on her many bold and electrifying adventures. She swam with sharks in Bora Bora, hang-glided over the beaches in Brazil, paraglided off a mountain in Alaska and spent two weeks on a safari in Africa.
Brown also cave-dived in the Cenotes sinkholes of Mexico, swam with alligators in the Florida Everglades, hung with the KGB in Russia and drove a Bugatti across the country in the Great America Run.
An athlete at heart, Brown’s competitive nature began at an early age when she took up sports at 3 years old. Her parents, both former Olympic gymnastics coaches, instilled in her a passion for sports. She attended the University of Florida on a full academic scholarship and played four years on the Florida Gators softball team, ultimately serving as its senior captain.
Brown currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Wes Chatham.
