ANNABELLE GURWITCH - ACTRESS & ENVIRONMENTALIST TALKS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF RECYCLING
America Recycles Day is the only nationally-recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States. Most people agree that recycling is important, in fact, according to research commissioned by the Carton Council last year, 90% of consumers think recycling is important and people should do what they can to try to recycle. Unfortunately that doesn’t necessarily translate into action as recycling rates linger around 35 percent and many people still aren’t recycling everything they can. On November 10th, actress, writer and activist Annabelle Gurwitch will be live from a facility that produces green building materials made entirely out of recycled food and beverage cartons to educate people about the importance of recycling to our economy and environmental well-being. She wants to make sure people know that food and beverage cartons can and should be recycled, and that facilities like this one actually need more. Annabelle hopes to motivate occasional recyclers to become “everyday” recyclers and provide an example of what their recyclables become.
