HEALTHY LIVING MEANS LIVING HEALTHY: Lose Weight, Feel Great
STOP THINKING DIET AND START THINKING LIVING HEALTHY
Losing weight isn’t about fad diets or food deprivation, but rather about changing one’s attitudes toward food, according to healthy living expert Margaret Marshall.
Living healthy means changing a lifetime of unhealthy patterns and habits, Marshall explains in her new book, HEALTHY LIVING MEANS LIVING HEALTHY: Lose Weight, Feel Great. It’s about realizing there is no quick fix, no need for perfection, and that there is always room for improvement. “It is not dependent on the numbers on a scale, but rather on how you conduct your thoughts and feelings, and how you manage the many challenges throughout the years,” she says sharing the message that she stresses in her Huffington Post column and in her frequent television interviews.
Unfortunately, consumers have been bombarded with messages that losing weight can be done with little time or effort. “The weight loss industry has brainwashed us to believe the best diets are the ones that promise amazing results in a short amount of time,” says Marshall. “This couldn’t be farther from the truth; the reality is healthy living means living healthy for a lifetime.”
HEALTHY LIVING MEANS LIVING HEALTHY OFFERS READERS ADVICE ON:
• How to live
• How to think
• How to build self-esteem
• How to enjoy healthy holidays
• How to deal with others
• How to deal with emotional eating
The book provides practical tools and insights to improve every aspect of life – relationships, environment, and level of success. It includes the Five-Finger Food Guide, an easy-to-use technique that will remind readers how to choose food wisely, how to eat a balanced diet, and how to eat the correct portions and combination of food.
Marshall encourages readers to stop thinking about dieting, and instead start thinking about living healthy regardless of the time of day or year, making choices and decisions that are in line with living healthy, and incorporating health into every aspect of their lives.
HEALTHY LIVING MEANS LIVING HEALTHY provides an easy-to-understand, easy-to-follow format. Each chapter includes a worksheet for readers to record their progress. By revisiting chapters, readers can see how they have changed over time and continue to build on those changes. Each chapter also includes a Weight-A-Minute, a positive affirmation that enables readers to make wise choices and guide them through difficult challenges, such as:
- Eating pleasure is momentary, my goals are forever.
- Being a healthier, happier, more active person is not what I do. It’s who I am!
- Exercise is an appreciation of the incredible body that sustains my life.
- Knowledge, patience, and practice are the cornerstones to my weight loss and good health.
- Eating smart is about my health and quality of life. There is no finish line or race to the end.
Reversing a pattern of unhealthy thoughts and habits that have accumulated over one’s lifetime requires time and patience. “There is no timeline,” says Marshall. “Let your weight loss be the by-product of healthy living, rather than the focus. It’s the only way to lose and maintain your weight.”
For anyone who is concerned about their health or weight, health care professionals, and anyone interested in promoting and achieving a feeling of well being, the concepts in HEALTHY LIVING MEANS LIVING HEALTHY will enable readers to achieve goals that may at first seem unattainable.

ABOUT BEEKEEPER CELLARS
Beekeeper Cellars is the vision of best friends and co-winemakers Ian Blackburn and Clay Mauritson. The two collaborated after adventurous individual careers in the wine business, and at last, decided to work together on a project of their own.
Clay, a 7th generation grape grower, and his family found themselves the owners of a significant slice of the Rockpile Appellation, through an amazing set of historical land transactions. The Mauritson family realized the potential and parented the creation of the ROCKPILE AVA. In 1998, Ian and Clay climbed the hill and watched the Madrone Spring Vineyard get planted, while discussing the future of Rockpile and the dream it represented.
In 2008, Clay saw the fruits of his family's labor taking shape and came to Ian with a unique opportunity to source some of the Rockpile fruit. He told Ian in the difficult days of 2008, “now is the time to get in and build the business and have it take shape as the market improves, and to not wait until business is strong as you will have a hard time getting access to the right quality assets.” Ian took heed of Clay’s wise comment and said "When your best friend is Clay Mauritson and he offers Rockpile fruit and to assist with winemaking…... you make Zinfandel.”
In Los Angeles, Ian operates a specialty wine marketing organization known as wineLA and has pioneered wine education for the past 20 years (since 1995) through www.learnaboutwine.com and www.wineLA.com. Beekeeper Cellars is also involved in Ian’s Masters of Wine Thesis project and provides him the winemaking training he requires to help pass the difficult Masters of Wine exam...an ongoing pursuit.
