What's Cookin' Today Hour TWO:

We're Talking with Leo Pearlstein About His Latest Book, Celebrity Stew!

When Leo founded Lee & Associates, Inc. in 1950, he had no idea he would one day be referred to as a "Legend of Food PR," as part of a feature in the Public Relations News publication, or be named a "PR superstar" in the Public Relations Quarterly magazine. TV Guide has even featured Leo and cited his ability and professionalism in getting his clients' products placed on television shows and in movies.

"
Celebrity Stew" shares Leo Pearlstein's behind-the-scenes adventures with Hollywood's royalty over the last 50 years. The book also highlights over 200 rare and nostalgic photos of many of Hollywood's biggest stars during his publicity campaigns. This includes photos of Steve Allen, who wrote the book's Foreword, Mickey Rooney, Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, Abbot & Costello, Groucho Marx, Dinah Shore, and many others. The book gives a great overview of the public relations industry, while being fun, educational, and entertaining.

Cindy Friedman Tells Us About the Upcoming Catalan Festival - This Weekend!

The Catalan Festival at Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards pairs the unique spirit of Catalonia with the world-class quality of California sparkling and still wines. A celebration of the winery’s Spanish roots and the opening of the winery in July 1986, the Catalan Festival is now in its 25th year. In 2011, join us in celebrating our 25th Anniversary.

Spain used to be a cluster of different kingdoms— Aragon and Catalonia, Valencia, Castilla—each with its own language, culture, heritage and royal family. Eventually, by marriage or conquest, it all became one country. In the northeast of Spain, Catalonia has kind of an urban, yet Mediterranean feel to it. A lot of artists and entrepreneurs come from there as opposed to other regions that are more agricultural. Barcelona, Catalonia's enchanted city, is often referred to as Paris with palm trees.

Whether you're coming for the first time or to relive happy memories, you'll find plenty to do at the festival.
